I purcased my first pair of glasses from Pearle Vision May, 8 2007. At that time I asked for lenses that lasted the longest and were extremely reistant to scratching". The salesperson assured me that the lenses that I had chosen were the best on the market/. Well today I returned to the Phoenix, Arizona Desert Ridge location and they just wished I would have kept it down as I was hindering sales as I explained that the lenses I had were so scratched that It is becoming hard to see!. Just so you know these have never seen a paper towel or tissue". These glasses have always been cleaned with a towel while wet|. This store offered no help and didn't even appologize for the misrepresentations that were made on quality of there products as I explained they are the WORST lenses I have owned in 25 years of buying glasses|. Please do not buy lenses from Pearle Vision if you don't plan on buying lenses in 9-12 months?. They will not stand behind there product and will not feel bad when they offer to sell you another pair a year later:.

Imust say that I do agree that I would never buy another pair of glasses from pv and Iwill let other people in the area know how bad the product is along with customer service seeing how Iwent in to the store on June 21 2011, talked to the lady about the lenses cracking and the scratches on them and told her that Ialways cleaned them with a cloth she told me she would sell me another set of lenses half price all else you would have thought they would haved tried to at least made the 1 right that was cracking seeing how the glasses were purchased in nov of 2010 so I suggest if you want a good pair pf glasses avoid going to pv.

I have had numerous problem with Pearle Vision lens. I was told they are scratch resistant. I use nothing but lens cleaning wipes and the right lens has multiple scratches and Pearle says "we're so sorry, would you like to buy a new pair of glasses". Seems like since I had the glasses for 14 months, I was s.o.l.! I will never buy from there again.

I've bought my glasses from Pearle Vision for years and have never had anything other than a great experience and great glasses. The people are wonderful and very professional and friendly.

"What does a franchise do better than corporate?"

I can't speak for all franchises, but at the PV franchise I work at, we ignore them and their rules. We go out of our way to help our customers, and we put our patients care ahead of making extra sales.

Franchise offices have more freedom when it comes to choosing the product they sell. We can get the same stuff as corporate offices carry (from Luxottica, PV's parent corp.), or we can search out independent suppliers. In my opinion, that makes franchises able to provide better product than the corporate offices.

The cooporate yes men who come around every few months are always telling us that we're not selling enough glasses. I bite my tongue and just wait for them to leave. Our office is concerned with the health of our patients eyes, not selling them a $600 pair of glasses, then trying to soak them for another $50-$100 when and if something goes wrong.

Personally, I try to distance myself from the Pearle Vision name as much as possible.

I must say that I am sorry you are unhappy with your glasses and I understand your frustrations. But, it bothers me when you say "do not buy lenses from Pearle Vision." As a PV franchisee, I do my best to accomodate my patients and work with them on their frustrations. Please remember that corporate stores are owned by Luxottica and there are some that are Franchisee owned.
