Big Mistake
I mistakenly bought a Groupon for an exam/eyeglasses discount package for Pearle Vision. The eye doctor was very good, but the support staff are the absolute worst I have ever encountered.
They do not know what "service" is, they just try to upcharge you for every single thing possible and are so rigid in the way they treat their customers. Several bad experiences there ended up costing me more money and a lot of hassle. The most recent one was an insurance reimbursement claim that was denied because their receipt did not clearly describe or itemize what the various charges were for, which I agreed with. They would not reissue the receipt or provide any documentation to clarify the charges, even after I told them that I would not get reimbursed unless they did.
As long as they get paid their ridiculously high prices, that's all they care about. Zero customer service from Pearle Vision.

UNLAWFUL DECEPTIVE PRACTICES
These people are deceptive in their disclosure about the cost of glasses. Told me 3 times they have a mix and match for $300 or half off if no insurance or buy one get one free. Picked the lenses and frames, went to check out and it's $810!!!! Of course I halted the order and asked why the difference. They said oh, yeah, huh. Ok. $485. I said what happened to half off of $300?????. They said that was 40% off. Ok...what happened to 50% off? so they dropped the price to $405. I relented since my son's glasses are hard to find.
I ended up finding out my son gave them an old prescription so I called the next morning to cancel the prescription and don't know how long it will be before he picks up a new one. Asked for a refund. Nope, too late, you signed the line lady. I said that they haven't filled the prescription so it should be no problem for a refund, and if I have to come down there, I'll make a stink. They said then we will call the police. I said, for demanding a rightful refund???? Yes ma'am. I said, well all the reviews of this place are TRUE!!!!
This is how far these people will go to stiff you!!!! Told me to call the manager on Friday, putting me past the legal 3 days to get a refund. So I said fine, I will bring you a letter that states to NOT FILL THE ORDER SO THERE IS NO ISSUES LATER and that I want a refund because I am in and out of town and have no guarantees if and when my son will return with the correct prescription. They were ok with that. Then told me which store the manager will be at in the next 2 days. I have also called my bank and got a dispute number for my debit just in case the manager gets stinky. I suspect he will since the employees have free range of being *** at the drop of a hat. He's obviously condoned this behavior all in the name of sales.
This business is too highly priced and the quality is nothing special, if not low end quality. They use deceptive and intimidating practices. They don't scare me, only them stealing my money and not honoring rightful business practices.
Recommend saving yourself a long term toxic relationship with this company and go somewhere, anywhere else.
Further notes: I called the manager on Friday, as requested. He was out. Left him a message to call me back. 2 hours later I received a call that the glasses were done (hey folks, that's not even 72 hours later!!! Who does that? Pearle Vision when they want to steal your money). I told them NO, I cancelled this order on phone first thing the next day (after ordering them) and hand delivered a letter that same day, stating I want the order cancelled and refund of my money. If my order was in process or done after telling them to cancel twice, it's because they purposely ignored my request to bully me out of $405. Instead they told me they called my doctor for a new prescription. I said, cancel the order and refund my money! So, obviously they knew I wanted it cancelled, had not filled it yet, and went ahead and filled it anyway. DECEPTIVE. I had a hunch this is how far they would go based on 800 other reviewers.
None of what they say makes sense to any sane, honest person. I have filed a dispute with my bank for the return of the charges, as well as sent CRRR letter to the manager, general manager and a faxed copy of all letters to my bank. I fully expect Pearle to refuse the letters. So I'm prepared to follow legal guidelines and resend them 2 more times. My son and I will make no phone or personal contact for ANY reason. I can see going down there to demand my money back a way for them to a) throw the glasses at me, and b) call the police if I say anything while they lie about what I do or say.
It's already toxic. Please warn everyone to stay away from these people.

Fixed my frame
I had a very badly damaged frame, in particular the right arm, thought it might have to be replaced. Karen used several sets of small pliers, slowly and carefully manipulating and adjusting the frame, even cautioning me that if it were to break, then it would need replacing, and there is no guarantee, the frame is aged and weak, but saving me from paying another $150 or so.
This is very much above and beyond what was expected, and takes a great deal of patience.
I am most grateful for this, and she deserves the highest possible recognition, thank you very much. Paul R.

Misdiagnosed
Peare Vision misdiagnosed my 5 year old with an astigmatism in her left eye that required her to wear glasses constantly. Good thing I had enough sense to get a second opinion! I wonder if the optometrists there know how to actually perform a true exam or only rely on the results of those machines.
And the prescription they gave was super high - trying to give my kid headaches to make an extra buck??? Shame on you. What a poor practice!!
Never going back to this place who either hires unknowlegable optometrists to represent them or misdiagnoses customers to make money on their products.
Pearle Vision Stamford, CT.
I've been going here for about 15 years and real like Dr. Eisner. The problem is there prices on glasses and lenses. You would think with insurance the price would be better, but it's not. My insurance is EyeMed. Do you know who owns EyeMed and Pearle Vision? It's an Italian company called Luxottica. Look that name up and you'll see all the other vision and insurance companies they own. They set the price very high because there is hardly any competition! 60 minutes had a special on Luxottica and its shady! If you price shop at a store that they don't own ( Costco / Walmart), you'll see the price at least 2/3 less! I ordered 2 pair of glasses for $900.00 that they won't refund or discount it more to get the price down. This is from there web site "Our guarantee
If for any reason you aren't 100% satisfied with your eyewear purchase, you can return it. Bring the merchandise back in its original condition within 30 days of your purchase and we'll make things right."
I could get them from Costco for $300.00! This is a big difference in price. It's called price fixing!
This is the last time I go to Pearle Vision!

Terriable service
I went to Pearle Vision Center in Columbia,Mo. on Feb27th for eye exam and to order new glasses.
Mar.5th 2016 went back to pickup my new glasses and they were ordered wrong with no transition which I paid for and was seeing blue lines with them. They said no problem that they forgot to order transition and would get that done in few days. Went to pickup my new glasses tonight Mar.14th and guess what WRONG AGAIN. Still seeing the blue lines and this time they say its because needed to order anti reflective lens.
I live 35 miles away from Pearle Vision and now will have to make another trip there to get my glasses which was no fault of my own. They were supposed to order glasses just like the old glasses.
Never again after I finally get my new glasses will I ever go back to Pearle Vision. All of this was at my expense with no discount or refund of any kind.

I am very frustrated with my new glasses
I have bought new glasses here just recently and I am not happy. The seller has not told me that with my vision the lenses would be so thick.
Now I cannot change my plastic lenses to glass lenses to make them thinner because this company does not work with the glass. And they have advised me to change the frame instead to smaller one but they cannot offer anything of a good brand because my frame size is 48-49. Almost all they have is 50 which is too big for me. They refused to make refund as well so now I have ugly glasses.
Several other companies offered to make glasses with glass lenses for two-three weeks or order a frame of a smaller size. I do not understand why it is impossible here and I think I have made a mistake when I bought my glasses in Pearle Vision.
